This page contains information to help you make the most of the Bike GPS tour portal.

Finding your way through the various tours
If you click "Mountain bike" or "Racing bike", this takes you to a page where you can select a country or (on the satellite photo of the Alps) a region. In the "Search tours" function, you can enter regions, towns, valleys, mountains, huts and alpine farms. You will then see a list of all tours for which your search argument appears in the region, name or brief description.

In each region of each country, you will find a list of tours containing the numbers and names of tours, the distance (in km; GPS data), the cumulative climb/descent, the degree of difficulty (in terms of the stamina and riding skills required) and the panorama factor. In this list of tours, you can also calculate your personal travel time (not including breaks) by entering your average speed. Lastly, you can have the tours in a region sorted by any of these criteria. At the click of a mouse button, you can see an enlarged satellite photo of all the tours in this region, complete with the names of towns and localities and the numbers of the tours. Clicking a tour number also takes you to the tour preview.

Tour preview and shopping cart
When you click a particular tour, you will see a preview containing the tour data, a brief description, a small elevation profile, a photo and the price of the tour. The pricing information is split into the price of the analogue data, the price of the GPS data and the price of both sets of data together. If you like what you see, click one of the price buttons, depending on which data you require and how you wish to pay. The tour will then be added to your shopping cart. From the shopping cart, you can, of course, return to the list of tours and add further tours at any time.

Payment information
Payment by cash in advance is slightly cheaper, and is therefore recommended for tours that you are planning well in advance. Once you have placed your order, we will mail you an invoice for your tour or tours. You can then transfer the invoice amount to the account quoted. Your tour(s) will be released for download as soon as we receive payment. You will then receive a second e-mail informing you that you can now download your tour(s) at any time in the next 14 days. Your personal data packages will be made available in the form of a ZIP file.

Paying with your credit card is slightly more expensive. The advantage, however, is that you can download your tours immediately if you want to make a start the next day, for example. To pay with your credit card, simply enter card holder, e-mail, card number, check number and expiry date. Your data will be validated. Immediately after that you can download your tours.

Combining tour data with Transalp GPS data
All GPS data available for Bike GPS tours is compatible with the GPS data for the stages described in the "Traumtouren" ("Dream Tour") book (available in German only). One-day and two-day Bike GPS tours can therefore readily be combined with Transalp tours. If you wish to download GPS data for the stages described in the "Traumtouren" book, please click here.
